My journey to Polk County began in 1961 when my father, Dean Butler purchased the drug store in Tryon from retiring pharmacist, Fred Owens. My father owned and operated Owen’s Pharmacy for 40 years.
I graduated from Tryon High School and attended North Carolina State University, began land surveying in 1979 and opened my own land surveying company, Butler Associates in 1987.
I met my wife at Tryon Highschool, and we married in 1980, Mary recently retired from her position as Director of School Nutrition Services at Polk County Schools. We have three adult children; Lauren, Brett, and Bruce, they always enjoy coming home to beautiful Polk County.
On January 1, 2019, I sold my Land Surveying Company to Joshua Edwards, a former employee. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life.
As a local surveyor for 40 years, I am very familiar with Polk County and the surrounding areas and look forward to assisting you in finding your special place in our community.
