I’ve been blessed to call North Carolina and South Carolina home my entire life. I was educated here and raised my family here, the Carolinas are home. Early years were spent in Brevard, where my father, Henry C. McDonald, Jr., designed and built homes, churches, and colleges in Western North Carolina. Brevard College was one of his most acclaimed designs. My mother, Elaine McDonald, spent her life in the promotion and support of the arts and music in my beloved hometown.
My husband Rick and I met at Appalachian State University. Soon after being married, we moved to Spartanburg and have spent forty years in this community raising three wonderful children. They kept me busy being a horse mom (Rick is a team roper), an orchestra mom (Elaine), and an avid volleyball supporter (Maggie). Now, my greatest joy is SIX beautiful grandchildren!
